About Horton Enterprises
The Horton family has been in business since 1945, providing stellar customer service to our loyal customers on the historic city square in downtown Lamar, Missouri. Our first family business was a five & dime which closed in 1994 followed by a Jewelry Store and Flea Market.
In we opened our first internet gift store (http://www.hortonstores.com) followed by another which provides hobby supplies and games (http://madhatterrgames.com)
Today we still employ mostly family members to run our Jewelry Store, Flea Market, and Online Stores. On any given day you'll find Doyle & Mark (grandchildren of the original owner) over seeing Doyle's sons Jim & Nick at the Flea Market and Jewelry Store, respectively. You'll probably also find their kids and wives coming in and out doing odds and ends to keep things running smoothly. Also, you'll get to meet DeAnna Ross (our Internet Manager) and Susan Arthur, a clerk at our Flea Market.
The hallmark of our business, both online and locally is (and will always be) service. We take time to get to know our customers, to say hello to everyone who walks in and to make sure that people who deal with us online KNOW that we appreciate that they chose to shop with us over other retail stores.
